The Summer Olympics are still a year away, but gold medal games have been going on all month in Arlington Heights at the Moorings retirement community (Noel Brennan/CBS 2 Chicago). YouTube Tips ⓘ

Moorings resident Ted Lucore brought a month-long competition that wraps up Friday, September 1, 2023 with a medal ceremony.

A total of 86 residents participated and competed in the month-long event under the supervision of Fitness Program Manager Kara Knutz, who also helped organize the event with Lucore.

Gold, Silver and Bronze medals are to be awarded Friday.

Water volleyball competitors, Scrabble competitors, walkers, golfers and team eight-ball competitors were involved in the daily competitions

Ted Lucore said residents look forward to making this an annual event.
